In April of 2018, I participated in verynice's Create-a-thon, which is a 24-hour pro-bono 3-person challenge to design whatever the non-profit organization needed in their brief. Our team worked with Vets Whole-in-One, which helps U.S. veterans transition into civilian life, through the teaching of mindfulness meditation and golf. I was in charge of designing their logo, website, and accompanying assets (letterhead, forms, etc.). Having such a short amount of time really helped me to focus on the essentials and make something that the client and their veterans would love.
Vets Whole-in-One previously did not have a website at all, which made it hard to reach potential donators, volunteers, or veterans. That was our main priority. The second thing we tackled was rebranding their logo to fit their current mission and values
